| LC II - first recap job! | |
| Posted by: JRL on 2013-03-05 00:01:49 So I finished my first ever recap job on my LC II, which had sound problems and gave me a Sad Mac on startup with any hard drive. Obviously my soldering skills are pretty crappy, and I didn't have two of the needed tants, but I got the job done! Going to clean this off and power it on tomorrow.  I owe a big thank you to everybody here for giving me the courage to take upon the job, especially uniserver with his diagrams! | |

| Posted by: JRL on 2013-03-05 18:13:19 Thanks! I was worried about that a lot but thankfully the cap removal went along fine. I used a wire cutter to pinch off the top of the caps, desoldered the loose leads, and put on my new caps. Already bent the radials down! | |

Gotta have to get me some nice new caps for my LCII (P400) too... the logic board is sitting capless on the shelf now :C (I even managed to glue a pad back that i lifted before anyone could see it :rambo: ) | |
