| What Daystar card is this? |
Posted by: Hotdog Zanzibar on 2015-10-01 17:58:38 This is in my Q840. It has to be a cache card, but I can't tell which one. Has TWO DSP chips on it. Google images has been little help...

Posted by: Hotdog Zanzibar on 2015-10-01 19:38:57 Searching for "SCNB-1.0" actually turned up some results -- apparently it's a Photoshop accelerator card (hence the DSP chips). Supermac also slapped their logo on this card and sold it for a while.
It probably won't work with OS 7.6 or later, so I'll have to reserve it for one of my older machines running 7.1 or 7.5.5...

Posted by: Trash80toHP_Mini on 2015-10-02 07:33:33 macmetex may still have the shrinkwrapped software/manual for that card. Storm Technology changed hands a couple of times, eventually winding up in the Radius fold.
edit: rummaged around a bit, Storm Technologies, PicturePress

Posted by: beachycove on 2015-10-02 18:52:58 The software basically allows for (select) Photoshop filter acceleration and for fast image compression, intended basically to speed up image processing in publishing, and to save storage space there back in the days of 230mb hard drives.
I think my version may be Storm Tech. branded, but it has been in the innards of a Q650 so long, I can't really remember.
