| New to me eMate 300 |
Posted by: Macdrone on 2013-03-01 16:10:48 So I got this green machine. Any suppliers of batteries? It doesn't have one in it. Also any good replacement chargers? Missing that also of course. Gonna look but I think that screen looks like same size as the portable hmmmm.

Posted by: beachycove on 2013-03-01 20:40:36 As I have posted elsewhere, this and a plug and a thermistor, the latter two being easily harvested from a dead battery (there must be some of those still about), will do the trick about as well and as cheaply as it can be done. An alternative is a 4xAA plastic battery holder wired to the male connector internal to the eMate. Even alkalines would run it in intermittent use for a long time, and you would not then need a charger at all. Those are expensive.
The general arrangement is here; battery holder hacks can be found if you go looking.

Posted by: Macdrone on 2013-03-01 21:28:34 I got it for shipping with a 540c since my motherboard shorted out and wouldn't power the floppy drive anymore. I didn't know I wanted it. I'm just a gluten for being hip deep in projects.
