I've never done much welding except mild steel, tacking truck parts and a little bit of aluminum, just to get my feet wet. I haven't done any at all since about Y2k, so I've got a question.
I was running a line against the side of a shelf I bent up many moons ago and made an ID10T error . . . 😛
. . . went a tad too far from the wrong direction, hit the seam on the side and snapped the lip off my 20-something year old JET Pneumatic Nibbler. :'(
What are the odds of having an expert welder re-attach it successfully? :?:
| Posted by: Trash80toHP_Mini on 2013-01-09 14:36:53 LOL! I feel a lot better . . . phew!!!
I found a replacement die for only about $2.50 more than the POS Nibbler that Harbor Freight Sells! It'll probably be $15 more than if I drove to H.F. and bought one, but this one is good for another 20+ years considering the duty cycle I ask of it.
It'll run off my compressor too:
Jet__Air consumption: 4 CFM @ 90 PSI
H.F._Air consumption: 17.5 CFM @ 90 PSI
Of course the $25 H.F. unit is spec'd at 16ga. vs. 18ga. But if you believe that . . . }🙂
I can't believe they actually show these reviews . . . :🙂
