For Christmas, my wife gave me $500 to spend on eBay

Like the title says, for Christmas, my wife gave me $500 to spend on eBay. She knows how much I love vintage Apple gear and there's no way she could possibly buy anything that's posted on my wish list that hangs on the back of the computer room door. So she gave me $500 to blow on eBay. She rocks.

I bought some really awesome stuff.

I've always wanted a TechStep, but they are usually very expensive and I have never been able to score one.

I've been wanting a G4 Cube ever since they came out. I finally have a complete setup. It's in amazing condition and also came with the boxes.

I picked up a Performa 460 because it was cheap. Only $15 bucks. (Just the box. I already had the monitor, etc.)

I scored another AirPort Base Station to add to my collection (in the box).

I also managed to grab a 1979 Apple II Graphics Tablet. It doesn't work, but I'm just happy to have one. The seller even included the original floppy along with a DOS 3.3 disk.

If that wasn't enough, my Dad threw me an old iPod mini and 8G 1st gen iPhone he had sitting around.

Oh, and here's the floppies that came with the Graphics tablet:

The AirPort added to the collection:

And the Cube boxes

A very good Christmas indeed, and that's not even counting the stuff she bought me off my Amazon wish list! My wife rocks!

Santa has been nice with you 🙂

Have you had time to test the Apple TechStep ?

No, not other than power on. I'm sure it works. Just haven't had the time to dig in.

I think I bought startup disks from you for my 512kE a while ago. 8-o

And that Cube, WOW! Great condition!

Yes, it's in really great condition. Like new. I just ordered 3x512MB of RAM to max it out.

Wow! Just wow! What a wife. You made great finds from the 'bay for sure. Is there an way to fix the graphics tablet? I've wanted one for ages, have the driver disk already. You need an special card for it as well.

I doubt it. It looks like the previous owner already had a go at tearing it open. The sides are all bent out from when it was pried open. Being plastic, there's no way to bent it back. It's stuck like that now. The user even hot glued all the front corners to the back to keep it together. (where circled)

Once I got it open I saw what was wrong. The glue that holds the wire mesh in place is all dried up. Needless to say, all the wires have come loose. Most of them are all just flopping around.

Time to lay down some glue strips.

I probably won't bother. Seems like a lot of work considering I don't have the card that goes with it. There's no way for me to test it. Since it was already cracked into, perhaps the previous owner already tried to fix it. Maybe the previous owner made it worse trying to fix some other problem.

This is the coolest thread I have ever seen.

Does your wife have a single sister between 25 and 38? 😉

She's a very special lady! :approve:

I love the way your base stations are lined up like shields down the sides of a Viking Longship.

Bonus points if those stations are all functional and online.

$500 to blow on eBay would be awesome. Not sure what I'd use it on first though--something Mac-related that would just take up space, a bunch of classroom supplies I probably don't really need, or some non-functional 1985 Honda Accord that I'd pledge to restore but would never find time to since I'd need to take a lot of classes in auto technology (I can drive it and put gas in it, that's about it, but I'm sure I could figure out all the other stuff if I had more time and an actual garage/tools).

They're all functional, but not online.
