I made the first pass at building another 2300cTB for an SacrificialHackMac and thought I'd share a piccie.
I've done this in a DuoDock with and without active LCD, but this is by far the most minimal Duo I've done to date. The MoBo's worth putting into a case to test some components for mcdermd's 2300c restoration project and then the Deconstructivist 2300cTB. [}🙂] ]'>

Posted by: directive0 on 2012-12-06 08:26:33 What are we looking at?
Is this basically a duo sans shrouding, or is this a mishmash of different components? More deets for ignorant masses (me), please!

Posted by: Trash80toHP_Mini on 2012-12-06 08:47:54 It's just a B@R3@$$3D 2300c MoBo plugged into a MiniDock with ScissorStandoff to relieve pressure on the connection. It struck me as a neat thing to document. It's a great way to test for minimal function of 2300c components from an eBay lot of three very nearly destroyed units.
One MoBo was certified as DOA in a similar process. It will be systematically torn down for continuity testing of traces alongside a similarly abused DOA 1400 MoBo.

Posted by: markyb86 on 2012-12-06 08:53:19 That's a neat way to get it done.
Also, the power supply there on the left of the photo.. boy do I wish the G3's had them like that rather than the UFO ones... I wonder if they are compatible at all...

Posted by: markyb86 on 2012-12-06 09:18:20 Sorry to thread-jack, but what is the rating if you have a minute? Pismo is 24V @ 1.875A
Back on track however.. > The DOA board, are you going to be adding wire for new traces as a resurrection? Or are you just further proving its demise?

Methodical TestBorkage! [}🙂] ]'>
I'm determining the traces/pinouts from the PBX .030 Bridge Adapter ASIC to the Docking Connector on the 2300c . . .
. . . from PBX to the PCMCIA Card Cage headers on the 1400
. . . from PBX to the Video Card connectionr on the 2300c
I'm working under the assumption that the 1400's Card Cage (T-Rex controller ASIC and the I/R subsystem) and the Video Card connector comprise the high and low order 16 bit portions of the 32 bit address space of the 2300c Docking Connector.
My 2300c's HDD Bay wants a PCMCIA implant, the project is about 11 years running now.

Posted by: theos911 on 2012-12-06 12:32:14 I've used Duo chargers on my WS and the UFOs on my duos. They seem to work fine.
