Not much of a conquest, but I bought a 128MB 72pin SIMM for $20 shipped and it's Mystic compatible! 4k refresh, 32x32 organization.
It fits in the CC motherboard try without cutting. It's a bit too tall to fit past the screw hole on the Mystic, so you have to do the "snap in the SIMM after you insert the motherboard" trick. This requires using a pencli to trip the SIMM slot catch before removing the motherboard.

Seems like a great deal, since recently one couldn't find 128MB SIMMs for love or money.
...it occurs to me that a 6100 with 256MB, G3, 4MB HPV, a decent hard drive, and internal CD-RW would be a screaming 7.5.5 or 7.6.1 machine. I always loved that case design.

Appears to be similar to the one I bought for my Mystic. It barely fits without cutting, the SIMM scrapes along the top of the opening as I slide the motherboard in. 🙂
If you still have the LC 5xx back plate (or can get one), you can modify it to fit the CC. You basically just use a dremel tool (or even a saw + file) and trim off the top of the plate. You won't have the clippy tabs, but you can drill a hole on the left side where the screw mount is and screw it securely into place (the right side, I think, is blocked by the ethernet card.) I did it for mine:

for about $16 have been available on Ebay for the last couple of years. However, the one you got may be shorter if it lacks the parity chips, which would be nice and $4 is not a substantial difference. My main point is that they have been continuously available.
The trick is to search on KMM53632000BK-6 which is the Samsung part number for the module. One can also search on D4893, which is the HP part number for the module manufactured by Samsung. IBM also sells the same part under another number which I don't know.

Huh, I hadn't been aware of those.
Yes, the ones I got are non-parity. Dunno for sure if they're shorter, but they do look shorter.
