Apple II items
Posted by: bibilit on 2012-10-07 08:22:12
Found this morning an Apple II Joystick, this is not an Apple branded product, but an Hayes one.

It was boxed and dirty, and when i asked for the price, i get a 5โ‚ฌ reply.

I say i can give 2โ‚ฌ if required, and we set a deal at only 3โ‚ฌ ๐Ÿ™‚

Was dirty, but managed to clean it and even had time to retrobright it a bit.

The story doesn't end there.

In the same box several cards were found, also for an Apple ][ :

kept looking around for the complete unit, but wasn't there...managed to get those as well for free :O

The thing is... i have no Apple ][ to play with, but doesn't matter, it was too cheap to leave.

Fantastic finds for sure! Anything boxed is rare these days.

Anyone, what's that 3rd card used for?

My guess is a printer card, but cannot be sure a 100%

That's a basic expansion kit for a IIe: 80 column card with RAM expansion, disk controller and an Epson printer board. You should have asked the seller where the IIe system unit resides...

The seller had a lot of rubbish in that box, most not related with computer stuff.

I didn't want to ring a bell when asking for vintage computer or even Apple Stuff, my 3โ‚ฌ conquest will probably not have been possible ๐Ÿ™‚

You should pay the cards first, then ask about the computer itself ๐Ÿ™‚ Was it at the flea-market?

Was it at the flea-market?
yes more or less.

Next time, ask the seller if they have an Apple IIe system that they want to sell. Maybe you'll get lucky and be able to get the rest for a reasonable amount.

Don't know if the seller was aware what an Apple ][ is really.

The items were mixed with old books, plates...etc.

I think he get all these as a whole bulk, he probably could have made more money from a complete Apple ][ including the joystick.

If i can remember clearly Krye did found a similar joystick not so long ago, and it wasn't cheap.

Just an question, how common Apple ]['s are in France generally? I find them being really difficult to come by, not to mention IIgs wich is virtually impossible.

Don't know really, seems they were pretty successful in France, i have seen several on ebay.fr lately...but don't get me wrong never seen any at garage sales or flea markets.

Will let you know as soon as i get one on my own
