| iMac Flower Power / OneScanner |
Posted by: Tmargo101 on 2012-10-02 08:58:35 Just poking around the back of the local computer store today, lots of stuff, mostly printers. Found:
iMac FlowerPower - Man, is this thing UGLY! Mainly took it because I could never leave it  and for any software on the HD
Apple Color OneScanner - Dirty, but powers up. No cosmetic damage.
And some random PC Stuff
Nice finds for a day.
Pics coming soon!

Posted by: LCGuy on 2012-10-02 19:30:28 Flower Power iMac....nice. Even though yes, they are ugly, they have become rather sought after, due to their rarity, and can go for a couple of hundred dollars on eBay.

Posted by: Byrd on 2012-10-02 20:40:27 Well, you now know why they didn't sell!
Out of interest, did the FP/Dalmation iMacs come with the white mouse + white keyboard, or a variant of the original iMac puck/coloured keyboard?

Posted by: LCGuy on 2012-10-02 20:45:59 They came with the black Apple Pro Mouse and Apple Pro Keyboard - the white peripherals didn't come out until the iMac G4.

Posted by: Tmargo101 on 2012-10-03 08:17:48 Yeah, the iMac came with a black keyboard, but no muse. I had spares, though 😎
Booted the iMac yesterday, had a mostly clean install of OS X 10.3. I was hoping for 10.2 or earlier, but still good that I don't have to reload it! Just wipe personal files... Like 5 of those... Seriously, do people even use these things? One time I found a core duo iMac with tiger, when I booted it, it booted to the welcome screen and new user setup! 8-o

Posted by: olePigeon on 2012-10-03 15:00:24 600 or 1200 scanner? I have a 1200, just gave away a 600. Great thing about scanners is that they don't seem to have progressed very far in 20 years. They're faster, sure, the but the results for scanning anything less than 600 dpi is no different on a Color OneScanner or a brand new USB scanner. At least, not that I've noticed.

Posted by: Tmargo101 on 2012-10-04 06:10:42 I don't know, on it it just says "Color OneScanner." :-/ I will check when i get home tonight.

Posted by: LCGuy on 2012-10-04 06:20:17 My guess is that that would be the original Apple Colour OneScanner. There was the Apple OneScanner (greyscale), the Apple Colour OneScanner, and then the few that followed with individual model numbers.

Posted by: olePigeon on 2012-10-04 09:08:37 Should be more than adequate. Unless you need microscopic or super hi-res, 300 dpi should be enough. 🙂
