Behold! Apple Macintosh 160SC

Just got it home a bit ago. I don't care if all the insides don't work, I can fix it all. When I saw it on the shelf I thought it was the 20mb version. The one that connects to the mac plus floppy drive connector. Boy was I wrong. Also the price "tag" is just a grease pen. I'm going back to the same thrift store tomorrow in hopes there will be more stuff! :beige:

Excellent find, a ZFP case is almost a necessity when using a Compact Mac for long periods without hurting your neck. That puppy is a hum-dinger! The angled plexi stands were nice too, I knocked off a couple of those for myself and friends on ye olde plexi bender back in the day.

Good luck tomorrow too, Bob!

Very nice! I've got a 20SC that I got for free with a Mac Plus about 10 years ago. Only one I've had the opportunity to make my own. Sure would be nice if mine was a 160 from the factory! I also have a couple of CD SCs that share the same form factor which I need to test at some point...

$3.99 is a heck of a deal.

little update. I popped it open (properly) and it has the origional hard drive in it! Its a seagate st2209n. It also was fully functional. Its silent! Someone used this as a "games" hard drive. They LOVED Simcity 2000, and honestly, who doesn't?

I'm NOT a fan of the big hard drive, and my fist instinct was to sell it on the ebay and put 2 small, new drives in it. I just love the decommissioned server drives. I have a 4gb drive, 7200 rpm wisper quiet and FAST. I LOVE SCSI. but anyway.

Its not a real show piece, its a bit yellowed and has scuff marks from use around kids, but there is a 95% chance i'm just going to leave it as-is and hook it up to my mac plus. Even though my real desire is to hack an internal hard drive into the plus, but that's a project for a much later day.

Out of interest how would you put two HDs in it?
