Lisa 2 Capacitors
Posted by: aplmak on 2015-09-02 12:13:38
Hello all... So I have replaced in my Lisa's the Power Supply and Video Board caps.. including the X2 film caps... many of mine were cracked... (not good)... at any rate.. I want to recap the CPU, I/O, and memory board 10uf 16v caps with tantalum rather than electrolytic... Just as a maintenance thing.. so I don't have to worry.... Can I do this?? I am looking at 10uf 25v tantalum replacements... the old one's are axial 10uf 16v (not easy to find anymore at this voltage)...

10uf16v.JPG  Old Electrolytic.. (not the exact ones.. the one's inside the lisa are light blue..)

Should be ok to use the Tant's Same capacitance and voltage.

25v 10uf will be fine. I never replace regular capacitors with tantalums of the same voltage rating. I always go the next voltage rating up.
