Powerbook 170 - carry case?
Posted by: Cosmo on 2012-08-08 21:11:11
Saw locally sold Powerbook 170 with carrying case, good condition, but no powercord (meaning, no PSU i guess), 30€. Powerbook 170 runs with PSU from Powerbook 100?

Now wondering, were there an Apple-branded carry case for Powerbook 170 or should i expect some other brand case?

Info or pictures, anyone?

You can use the same power brick from a PB100 on the 170 (the former is 2 amp I think the latter 3 amp but interchangable)

Yes, there was a carry case for the 1x0 model made around this time, with embroidered Apple logo, I'm not sure if it was made by Apple however. I've seen a few of them kicking around.

Thanks for the info.

Found out also that when PB170's were ordered from Apple, that you could order carrying case also that had apple logo on it. Made for apple, but an apple product so to speak.

Let's see if it's worth 30€..

Bummer, the guy selling the PB 170 said the case is not Apple branded. Indeed, missing PSU but the HDD is working. That's good news, working 2.5" SCSI HDD is valuable thesedays!
