Where can I get ram and this monitor for my Quadra 605?
Posted by: MacClassic10 on 2012-07-22 17:40:24
I want to max out the ram to 128mb for the quadra 605 I just purchased. What kind of ram do I need and where can I get it?

Also I am having the hardest time locating this monitor to purchase [pictured below]. Anyone know where I can find it or is anyone willing to sell one on here?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

In case you don't know the exact name of this display, it will help in your searches to know that it is a "Macintosh Color Display." That's the actual name printed on the back of this monitor.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macintosh_Color_Display

Though in the image you posted it is displaying only black and white, this is a color Sony Trinitron monitor.

A similar, older monitor is the AppleColor High-Resolution Monitor:

This one does not have a swivel base, though I believe one was made as a now unobtanium add-on option.

And finally, Apple made one of these with speakers, a microphone, and unlimited feature creep:

The AudioVision requires a special breakout adapter unless it is used on a Power Macintosh / Performa / WGS x1xx (except 9150).

The HP D4893A SIMM will do the trick. It's actually manufactured by Samsung and their part number is KMM53632000BK-6.

This Ebay seller has them for $16:

I have never purchased from him/her/it.

I have one of these monitors 'spare', but it's in storage at the moment, and wouldn't be cheap to ship cross-country. What's your budget for the monitor?

I have one of the 13" RGB Hi-Res monitors (earlier model). It doesn't have the swivel base but it's a Trinitron. This worked the last time it was powered on (which was a little over a year ago). Cosmetically, there's no yellowing, although it does have a hairline fracture in the front bezel (does not affect the monitor itself). Let me know if you're interested; I can take a picture if you need it. (It's in PA so I'd imagine shipping wouldn't be horribly expensive to RI).

Thanks for the offers guys, but I already ended up buying this one on eBay before I saw your responses.
