new 16.5 MHz oscillator for centris 650
Posted by: tux on 2012-07-17 19:41:57
Hi,

Can anyone tell what ~16.5 MHz oscillator chip (name, part number, vendor) can be soldered in place of the stock 12.5 MHz one in a centris 650? I've already removed r151, soldered r152 in my centris and it thinks it's a quadra 650 running at 25 MHz. I also have a fan on the cpu. :quadra:

Ummm. Bunsen, I think that page is just up for historical reasons. Certainly, the "Order On-line" link has not gone anywhere in years (over a decade?). On the other hand, it's worth shooting them an email to see. Back in the day, they were a great outfit to do business with.

Thanks for the help, guys. I sent them an email but haven't gotten a reply yet. xx(

Well, if the email went to their io.com address, that went away last July or the one before it. The domain name changed hands, darn it. My email was caught in that change too. I'd had that address for fifteen years...
