Apparently it will be 12 file boxes full of Mac software. o_o
Free.
Expect another post from me in a few hours related to this, its gonna be a huge haul. So huge that I barely have the space.
LCGuy edit - renamed from "Potential Software Conquest of the Year (Today)" as per request
| Posted by: olePigeon on 2012-07-15 14:19:44 Whoa! :O If you find any AU/X 3.0 discs, I'd be interested. I have everything except the software. 😛
| Posted by: IIfx on 2012-07-15 15:22:13 Well, all I can say is o_o
Would an admin/mod whom comes across this thread please rename it to "Possibly the software conquest of the year"? Thanks! 😀
12 boxes total, 6 just manuals, 6 with disks. I cant fit it all in my office. All the manual boxes will go in the basement rec-room while I look at all these disks.
I estimate I have...200+ floppies to go through.....I can confirm no A/UX though.

I will probably wear out a SuperDrive or two 😛
Also, I found this in the game Portal 2:

Aperture Laboratories used the Macintosh II to develop GlaDOS and the Portal gun technology? D: Something tells me we are under-using our old Macs. 😛
| Posted by: Unknown_K on 2012-07-15 16:50:30 I see you have a copy of Helix (database), Mathsoft (Mathcad I assume), Mathematica, and who knows what else, a very nice haul. Let me know if you have anything else oddball scientific there.
| Posted by: IIfx on 2012-07-15 18:22:12 Here is an incomplete list of what I did get. Most of these are complete with all the manuals, box, etc.
Various scientific applications: Mathsoft MathCAD v3.1, Mathematica v2 and v1, HIQ RealWorld Mac for PPC Mac OS
SYSTAT Statistical Analysis v5.1 and 5.2.1
tons of MS Office related from original version to 98, tons of Claris applications, MORE in various versions, THINK 2.0,GreatGantt graphing, Productive for BEOS etc.
Relational Databases: 2 versions of DoubleHelix, MacLION, FileMaker, etc
Graphical Applications:
Aldus Pagemaker,Freehand, Adobe Illustrator, SuperMac PixelPaint, Deneba Canvas, SilliconBeach SuperCard, etc all in various versions.
System Software: BEOS 4, Mac OS 8.0, System 6.0 for Macintosh II, System 6.1 for IIcx, System 7.5.3 on the worlds largest stack of floppies, Mac OS 9, Yellow Dog Linux for PPC.
Ashton-Tate business suites, various versions, and other business software
And something special to me:
The original manuals and system disks to my IIfx. Unexpected that these still existed.
I am a happy camper today
Going through 200+ floppy disks and archiving them? o_o
At least the IIfx has the fastest floppy drive I have seen, and the 40mhz Rocket makes quick work of compressing disk images. I should be done by 2015. 😛
| Posted by: Scott Baret on 2012-07-15 18:47:33 Any educational programs in there?
I'd pay top dollar if you've got a copy of Where in Europe is Carmen Sandiego, Hot Dog Stand, Spell-A-Saurus, or Fraction Munchers!
| Posted by: IIfx on 2012-07-15 22:19:05 Unfortunately there is no educational software, Scott. All this software is strictly engineering/office/OS type software.
Still making disk images and its 1:18AM. Once I start projects, I dont stop. Thats one of my weaknesses and strengths.
I think I am hearing the whirr of the Apple Motor Eject in my head now 😛
