Brand new 100MB SCSI Zip Drive

Never been opened, still wrapped in cellophane.

Almost seems a pity to open the box and use it...

If you are in need of using ZIP-disks, get an another drive to use and keep the sealed one as "backup" when the day comes and your main drive breaks down?

Sweet. I too just scored on a Zip drive. It's the internal drive bay model for my Lombard PowerBook. Sealed in the box for $10 bucks with free shipping!

Hi,

These SCSI ZIP drive aren't all that rare, are they?

I see them all over the place, so they can't be (at least in my opinion)!

I don't think they're rare. Some eBay sellers ask crazy prices for them, presumably because of their use with some popular vintage samplers.

It's still nice to find a brand new one though, rare or not.

Agreed.

For sure it's not super-rare, just keep it in the box for backup, or if you're collector, keep it forever LOL. Used ZIP-drives are around, better use those first. These drives just wont last forever. I picked earlier an sealed package of ZIP250 USB-drive for 6€ inc. 60pcs of ZIP100 disks sealed.

Zips aren't rare at all, but NIB, with the wrapper in place, it was pretty darn rare. Now it's just another SCSI Zip 100 Drive, albeit new.

I bought it to use it. It didn't cost much, and it seemed kind of silly to hoard it away and bequeath it to my grandchildren. I just think I got lucky in finding a brand new one for a reasonable price.

D.

EDIT: This is my third zip drive. I have two SCSI and one USB for various uses, including the abovementioned vintage samplers.

And here's mine. Just got it in the mail. Sealed in the box for $10, free shipping. Still don't have the PowerBook yet. My tracking numbers says I'm going to be waiting another 5 days.
