An IDE Zip 250
Posted by: onlyonemac on 2015-08-25 12:28:08
Sorry it's taken me a while to get round to posting this but about a week ago a friend of mine was trashing an old PC and I went round to his place and took all the bits that I wanted. Most interesting was an internal IDE Zip 250. I don't have the disks for this thing and it's not really a Mac thing, but just an interesting piece of tech for my collection. Still, I wish it could do more than just sit on the shelf...

yeah it would have been much more fun to you if it was SCSI.

IDE Zip 250 was an option, at least, on several models of PowerMac G4, so it's sort of a Mac thing.

You can pick them up on eBay quite easily

My G3 has an internal Zip 100 and my G4 QS has an internal Zip 250. Furthermore, I also have an Archos firezip 250 firewire which is glacially slow. 😀

You can use Zip100 disks on the 250 also if you find some of those
