Software that can read QuickTake 150 files
Posted by: jruschme on 2012-05-07 19:04:14
I have a chance a liberating a TiBook, but there is a catch...

The current owner has a number of images taken with a QuickTake 150 on the drive which would need to be converted to JPEG (or some other modern format) before he'd let it go. So... Any suggestions for a program that could do the job.

Thanks...

You need a very hard to find program called QuickTake Drop. See the discussion here:

I posted a link to about the only site that still had a copy but the download link didn't work. However, a member here as mentioned in that discussion did get a copy of it from them. Contact him and see if he still has a copy. If you manage to get a copy perhaps you could upload it somewhere to make it more readily available.

Load up the original QuickTake 150 software onto the laptop and convert them using that into .jpeg, .pcx, .bmp, or .pict.

The QuickTake 150 will only save pictures in the QuickTake format, but once they're moved to a hard disk via a serial connection you should be able to convert them using the QuickTake software itself.

Cheers!

The Apple Software Recovery CD has the QuickTake software on it, if you don't have it.
