Scored an Apple //c external 5.25" drive
Posted by: krye on 2012-02-11 16:45:00
I just scored this Apple //c external drive the other day. It just arrived in the mail today. They're usually pretty expensive, but I got it for $50 bucks.

I haven't even had the chance to clean it up. I had to try it out. I hooked it up to my //c and gave it a go.

It works!

It's such a pain duplicating disks without an external. This way, the process is much, much quicker.

Looks nice...have the plastics been restored or has it stayed that nice? I've got one in the basement but it's much more yellowed like many of the IIc systems and accessories are these days... Never tested mine though, came with a IIc that looks like somebody spilled coffee or something into the keyboard, and a IIc monitor and stand like you've got. Wish mine was in the shape of your IIc!

Looks very clean and solid unit. 50 bucks isn't that bad if you need it right?

I got an Apple //c with display and ext. drive but haven't picked it up yet. Might be bad display, so need to find an solution to that. Apple II's are odd to me, so lots of things to be learned.. Need software for sure, 5.25" disks etc. Still, i'm excited! The ext. drive that comes with the unit isn't Apple-branded, sadly. Need to find Apple drive also

Doesn't look restored. Looks like it was well taken care of and stored out of the sun and away from heat.
