| IIe card + ethernet in CC/LC at the same time...possible? | |

I'm not talking about giving the IIe environment access to ethernet; rather, can you have both cards installed for the convenience of using either without pulling the logic board and doing a swap? | |
| Posted by: Trash80toHP_Mini on 2012-02-03 08:48:03 Check out the DevNote for how many PseudoSlot Addresses are available in the Memory Map. The LCII must have had more than one.  If there's more than one available in the LC's memory map: check out this thread for hints on adding another card to the top of one card or underneath the MoBo. I haven't gotten to the "Machine Pin" hack details as yet, but you'll get the gist of it. Problems: LC cards aren't likely to have provision for adjustable Pseudo Slot IDs. Possible Solution: Hack the card(s) and A/B switch the power legs of the DeclarationROMs on the cards for one at a time use. Dunno, nice food for thought though! :approve: | |

Just something passive that I could switch the "active" card while the machine is powered off rather than needing to open up the case and physically swap cards. Kind of like the C64 mult-cart selectors but for LCPDS. | |

For my purposes, I don't need (or even want) multiple cards on the bus simultaneously, just a passive switch to select which card is available rather than needing to tear the whole thing apart to switch cards. But it's just a wish list type of thing that I'll never get around to doing. 🙂 | |

| Posted by: olePigeon on 2012-03-16 10:03:27 If you have an LC, you could jury rig the ethernet card into the open floppy drive slot without much hacking, then run a ribbon cable to the switch/nubus connector. Otherwise, you could look into a SCSI to Ethernet adapter, or, if you don't mind slower speed, an AppleTalk to Ethernet bridge. | |
