| Virtual PC 7 not recognizing XP CD? |
Posted by: BGoins12 on 2012-01-17 10:59:56 So this is driving me nuts. I bought a new in box copy of Virtual PC 7 at the flea market for $10! Problem is, I can't get the dang eMac to pick up the XP Professional CD. I followed the instructions it gave me, and it says "OS not found. "Install an OS on this hard drive" and Reboot and select proper boot device, which I am. Anyone know why it's doing this? I know there's nothing wrong with the drive or the CD. Any ideas on this?
Computer is a 1.42GHz eMac with 2 gigs of RAM running Leopard.

Posted by: jruschme on 2012-01-17 15:19:32 The problem is that, IIRC, host CD access is broken under Leopard. Try using Disk Utility to image the XP install CD and install from that. See http://www.macwindows.com/VPC7.html#121407d.

Made an image from the CD, converted it from .CDR to .ISO and it worked!
