| Mac to Min-Din 9 |
Posted by: jamie marchant on 2014-09-23 14:47:55 What adapter do I need to buy to hook my Mac up to my PC via the serial(localtalk) port? I recently discovered that the port is a none-standard min-din 9. (and not the older mini-din)

Posted by: Elfen on 2014-09-23 15:18:42 A Mac to ImageWriter Printer cable should work. If not add a Null modem connector to the cable.
The Mac Printer cable comes in many flavors:
Old Mac DB 9 to DB 25,
Old Mac DB 9 to PC DB 9,
Old Mac DB 9 to Din 8,
Din 8 to DB 25,
Din 8 to DB 9,
and Din 8 to Din 8.
You need to see which one you will need.

PCs don't need power so it should be ignorable, also one source says this was apples initiation, so I should be able to use a Min-Din 8 to DB9 converter of the correct type.
