I just purchased 3 Radius Rockets from our good buddy Herb Johnson. $160 for 2x Radius Rocket33s with both Image Booster and SCSI Booster, and 1 Radius Rocket25i complete with manuals and software (I have a spare full 25Mhz 040 which I'm going to pop in there.) I'm excited about playing with the SCSI and Photo boosters. 🙂 My goal for my IIci will finally have been reached. I will now have a Daystar 40Mhz CPU card, 128MBs of RAM, Futura II with Ethernet daughtercard, and 2x Radius Rocket33s with Photo and SCSI Boosters. This is one seriously pimped out IIci. 😎
Anxiously awaiting their arrival. It's going to be awesome! :lol: I'll take pics if anyone is interested. I can't wait! 😀

Sweet setup! What does the SCSI booster do (I assume the Photo booster helps things like Photoshop along)?

It's just a SCSI-II card. The Photo Booster is 2x DSP CPUs. If you have Photoshop 4 or 3, then you can use those to speed up image processing. 🙂

One of the nifty things you can do is if you set up the Radius Card as a second computer, and it will use the SCSI card instead of your main computer. Then you can have it do scanning in the background while you do stuff on the main machine. It's really cool.
I think as just a SCSI card, it's twice as fast as the onboard SCSI on the IIci.

Well it looks like these may NOT be as rare as people claim. I got 4 this year, you got 3.
Plenty of them floating around it seems.
SCSI-Booster is nice. If you have an external HD the Rocket can boot off of that instead, making for better bandwidth.
My dream setup is a Quadra 950 with 2 40mhz Rockets (Which I have), a Radius DSP Card, Radius VideoVision, and some other radius videocard.
Quadra 800 just does not have enough slots 🙁

If you've got an extra SCSI II DaughterCard a/o an extra 40 MHz Rocket, I've got an extra 950, several Radius Vidcards (three of them the RED variety!) along with all the Docs/Disks & Manuals to copy for my licensed, bought new, Rocket-n-RocketShare packages as trade goods!
My dream setup is a IIsi w/40MHz Rocket/SCSI II DaughterCard w/subterranian three PDS Card and oversize 72 PIN SIMM Replacement RAM/RAMasVM Card hacks. I'm currently workin' on the 2-3 PDS Card/NuBus Adapter hack . . . [😉] ]'>

From what I've read, the Radius Rocket won't fit in a IIsi. The Stage II Radius Rocket might fit if you swap the HDD with something smaller. Apparently it's a space issue.
I avoided the Stage IIs because you can only use them as host machines with RocketShare, and not as accelerators.
And I believe the Radius Rockets are still relatively rare, but the economy is not doing so well. I think people are offloading a lot of their more valuable gear at the moment.

Unless you mean that it will use the MoBo's 20 MHz 'O3O for Parallel Processing under RocketShare, that's exactly what I intended to do.
My Rocket 33 is AWOL ATM, but I put a full length SuperMac Card with RAM SIMMS hangin' down over a half height 3.5" HDD and see no reason the Rocket wouldn't be compatible with the IIsi . . .
. . . other than launching its PSU through the roof on a terminal velocity trajectory . . . 8-o

Not working with a IIsi is the official word from Radius. They also state it's for thermal reasons.

Since my IIci has a 40MHz upgrade in it and I actually have more than one card now, I'm going to use two Rocket33s as accelerators. 🙂
Apparently they shipped out today. I should have them by Friday. Just in time for the weekend. 😀 It's like Christmas. I can't wait! :lol:

I could have sworn that I'd replied to this last night.
The Stage II seems to require RocketShare to run. It's probably incompatible with RocketWare, the Single Rocket as Accelerator ONLY Software/Drivers.

I just got the cards in. Man these things are huge! I didn't realize how big they are. I couldn't find a link to download the software, but fortunately mine came with floppy disks. RocketShare 1.3.1 and RocketWare 1.5.1. Hoping to find the RocketShare 1.3.2 software.
Here's where I bought them. Sorry, I didn't see your message. I can't recall if he had a Stage II or not.
