Hi,
I have searched around the internet and it realy seems that classic Os (8.6-9) dont support USB 2.0
Let this thread begin the developement of the driver for out macs. I dont think it should be a hard job. Maybe a petition to open the source for the USB classic support would help.

There used to beta drivers on apple site. That got some USB 2.0 devices working, altough the speed was still 1.0 I guess.
Might be a good starting point?
