| Extension to enable 32-bit memory addressing on startup? |

Does such a thing exist?
I'm running my LC III without a PRAM battery and on startup the 32-bit memory addressing is turned off by default. I could just pop in a battery but I'm trying to see if I can manage without one. I have Network Time loading on startup to fix the date and time. If I could find some kind of extension to fix the memory addressing I can probably keep going without a battery.

Hmm. I don't know if Mode32 would work for that specific task, but it's the only thing I can think of.

I think all Mode32 does is add the 32-bit addressing option to the memory control panel. As it's already in mine it probably wouldn't even run.

There is a useful INIT that should sort you out with that problem and more:
PRAM Auto-Restore 1.0 - PRAM Auto-Restore is a Control Panel. To install it, drop it onto your System Folder. I've tested PRAM Auto-Restore with System 7.5.1 and 7.1, but it should also run with System 6.x. PRAM Auto-Restore resets your PRAM and Extended PRAM at startup and/or shutdown to a default that is stored in the Control Panel. It uses very few memory; when you let it reset your (x)PRAM at startup, it does not remain in the memory. When you let it reset your (x)PRAM at shutdown/restart, it installs a small (528 bytes) shutdown procedure (with the (x)PRAM defaults). You can set these defaults in the Control Panel to the actual settings in the PRAM by clicking only one button.
You can find a copy in lots of the 1990s archives (SUMAC, UMich etc). If you are stuck, give me a shout.

I ended up putting in a battery last night to see if it would fix the freezing issue I was having and it seems it may have, but I haven't had much time to check it properly.
