Dual 2.0ghz G5

Yay, a Dead G5. It looks nice cosmetically, and is stock. (160GB HD, 512mb RAM, 2.0ghz Dual) Its a late 2005 mac.

However, it does not boot. It does nothing when I press the power button. I tried the PMU reset button, and it did nothing. I am thinking it has a dead Power Supply.

The price was right. Free. I made a deal that I would get data off of its hard disk, and that I get to keep the mac.

Sounds like a dead PS. If the PS is good, you will usually hear a "click-bop" when you plug in the mains power. If it is bad, you will either get nothing at all or the light stays on when your finger is pressing it and the fans tick very briefly.

Edit: Its an original 2003 G5.

Still dead even though I just tried a fresh PRAM battery, so I am thinking its the PSU. Wow those power supplies are expensive!

I bought a new PSU for 75 dollars. Its a "refurbished" 600 watt unit. I hope this works.
