Hello, iam thinking off installing Linux on my Wally what PPC version will work best on this one, thinking of trying Fedora or YDL?

I would recommend MintPPC. I am working on installing on it my Wallstreet II 300mhz, but my disk drive is broke... which complicates matters. Also, you may wish to look into CruxPPC. I've never used it, but I've heard good things about it.

Also, depending on your model, mainly your RAM; 10.3, though limited in the modern world, may work well for you.

I recently discovered Frugalware. It started being based on Slackware, but now they use their own repository. Their 1.3 DVD iso doesn't boot properly, but hopefully 1.4 has fixed that. Or you could use Debian. 🙂

I didn't mention debian as MintPPC is sort of like a top half to debian. You install a minimal debian with no gui, and then put all the MintPPC stuff from the repos on top of it. Though, I should mention, you must be connected to the internet during the MintPPC install. Wired is better as I'm not sure what wireless is supported in CLI only debian or how to configure what would be supported. Once you register, the install instructions are pretty simple.

Oh yeah, duh I forgot that. 😛 I've been still meaning to try out MIntPCC too.

You and me both, but sadly, my Wallstreet shipped to me with a dead DVD drive...
