Holy Quadra- Lots o ram
Posted by: CompactMacLover on 2011-03-12 19:21:31
I fired up my quadra 950 tonight to check it finally. HOLY RAM

Has 196MB RAM Installed

12x16MB 30pin Simms

and 4x1MB SIMMS

I really dont know what to do with this beast, I was thinking of splitting up the ram into my IIci, Leave 128MB in the Quadra, and throw another 64 into the IIci or what. Either way its a beast. Otherwise I could find a good home for the 950 since its rather huge and id rather have an external CD ROM and some cool Nubus Cards for my IIci

If you are running 8.1 on that Quadra, 192 megs would be nice.

Regardless of what you do, I'd definately hold on to those SIMMs. 30-pin SIMMS are only going to be more and more of a pain in the ass to find. Especially in the larger capacities. By the time the first Pentiums and PPCs cams out, the industry had switched over en-masse to 72-pin SIMMs.

I put 64MB of it into my IIci, Honestly the quadra is almost too much of a beast for my needs, It may end up finding a home because of how big it is

I'd be interested in some of the RAM in trade for some cool nubus cards. I have a thread in Trading Post, and a few holdouts that you might be interested in.

I have like 2 non Apple external CDROM drives.
