| Potential Massive Conquest |
Posted by: notcrazy_iminsane on 2011-03-11 15:47:18 Hopefully this Monday I'll be given access to the building that computer recycler was locked out of. There should be some of the following:
Apple ][s of various models
Apple ///s
Macintosh Classics
A potential Lisa, Lisa 2, or Macintosh XL (I really hope there's atleast one)
Loads of G3 iMacs of different colors and models. If I get lucky, maybe G4 iMacs, and maybe an intel Mac or two.
eMacs
I bet there'll be a lot of LCs
Loads of other stuff Apple and non-Apple stuff
What I'm after is what is either an Apple ][ or Apple /// display composed of the computer, matching monitor, keyboard, and mouse, with floppy drives.
I'm not entirely sure what exactly is in there, but the G3 iMacs are definitely there. HOPEFULLY not too much has been removed from the building. I'm just waiting for a phone call from the people removing the computers from the building whenever the next time they have access to it is. ;D Hopefully I'll be able to use my dad's truck and hual as much as possible.

Posted by: trag on 2011-03-14 09:15:16 Let us know how it turns/turned out. If you see any Pluses or SEs and have time, check them for a cable coming out of the right, lower, side vent, with a connector on the end of the cable that looks like a tiny 28 pin micro-centronics connector. It's not actual micro or mini centronics. It's a Hirose DX-10, but who has ever heard of that?
If you see such a connector, it probably leads to the docking card for an Outbound Laptop Model 125. The Plus or SE will not boot up, but it's probably a good machine, just lacking ROMs. And I'd really like one of those docking cards....

Posted by: notcrazy_iminsane on 2011-03-15 11:20:15 I still have yet to get the call :-/ Apparently they have to wait for the railroad company that possessed the building to unlock it. I did return to the shed next it it and pulled out two more G3 iMacs. The cases are in terrible shape, but the components still look good. Atleast I hope they are, I cut my arm getting them out.
And I'll keep an eye out for an LC 😉 and any Pluses or SEs like you described. Who knows what I'll find that was once in the Louisiana school system. I'm actually surprised by the high number of them seeing as how our state's been broke for decades.

Posted by: Scott Baret on 2011-04-09 09:05:07 Any update on this? I'd be interested in an Apple Keyboard II (the short board which came with the Classics).

Posted by: notcrazy_iminsane on 2011-04-11 05:50:34 I've been going by the building every day since they said they would give me access... Seems like KCS kicked them off the job or something... I haven't seen anyone working in the building, only near it moving steel beams so they could repair the rail road tracks.
I did learn about a secret back entrance from the previous owner of the building 😛
