Switching a light bulb in a power button on a Lisa?
Posted by: mactjaap on 2015-06-27 07:16:35
Ok. I bought a replacement bulb for the power button of my Lisa. (type 87 T1 3/4)

I worked the complete power button out to make it easier to remove the light bulb. But I have no clue how to get it out....

Should I pull, turn?

It is impossible to do it with your hands, but it also seems impossible to open the power button.

Anyone knows what to do?

That metal tab on the bottom of the button. Use a flat bade screwdriver or something to lift it and then pull it to eject the bulb.

Wowww! Thanks very much. That does the trick! I was a little enthusiastic so the bulb launched like a rocket....

But ..it came out.

Now the replacement is in. Bought it on a historic radio fair. Yes ... I also collect old radio's.

See how this NVHR fair looks....old movie...but still the same:

Nice! Always like to see these old girls running - especially with LisaOS

The bulbs are oddly the same or near identical things that I use in my DEC's RA82 disk drive and my car's instrument cluster.

How about running a red LED down there as well, and use that diffused area for a HDD activity light? 🙂

....why? You already have a location for an HDD activity LED on the front bezel.

Oh, didn't know that.  Carry on, then.
