| B&W '030 games |
Posted by: Byrd on 2011-01-29 15:14:05 Hi,
I'm loading up a heap of software, including games on my SE/30, and finding that a lot of very old B&W games don't work - whether this is due to System 7.1 or not, I'd like to find some more advanced black & white games that require a faster '030 CPU - recall a handful, can anyone recall any more?
- Tetris Max
- Thexder (well, the SE/30 supported four channel sound)
Thanks
JB

One thing to also remember is to check that 32-bit addressing has been disabled, when trying to run those old games. Some of them were created back when System 6 was the rage and they might not have been updated to take advantage of Mode32 or the like. So go into the Memory Control Panel, disable 32-bit addressing and restart the Mac, before you play the game(s).

PS:
- Mac-Man
- Bedlam
- Eric's Solitaire Sampler (Yes, the same version designed under OS 8/9 will work under System 7.x.x, even v. 7.0.1; I've got it running under 7.0.1 myself.)
- Star Wars arcade game

The gameplay in Spectre VR does not seem very different compared to earlier versions which run on my SE. My guess is that the only reason it would require a II is the (hilarious) multimedia cutscenes.
