Dynamic DNS client updater for older Macs?
Posted by: superpantoufle on 2011-01-16 12:17:13 Does anybody know of a dynamic DNS client updater software for services like dyndns.org, zoneedit.com and such? I've googled quite a bit to no avail, but search terms are so generic they return a lot of irrelevant stuff. My router is working with dyndns, but I'm using zoneedit for my new web server. I'd be glad if I could delegate the task of updating the DNS server to the PowerBook itself (running System 7.0.1) and not having my MBP running 24/7. Thanks!

Something to run under System 7, or what? You're supposing right! Actually System 7 would be great, so my PowerBook 100 could host the site and update the IP address at the same time. But I somehow doubt such software exist for 7. Anyway, who knows? But something running on 8.6+ would be fine. I'm thinking of hosting the images and greater files on my PowerBook 1400 to gain some access speed. Thanks!
