Powerbook 1400c - Info needed on backup batteries
Posted by: LC_575 on 2011-01-07 17:38:29
In the Powerbook 1400c, what can everyone tell me about the backup batteries? Mine seem to be dead but a few internet searches dictate that they're rechargeable. Also, my Powerbook seems to have two suck backup batteries, one on either side of the trackpad. however, Apple's manual says there's only one.

Apple says there is only one - they also tell you that they don't want you to replace them yourself, but to take it to an AASP. All 1400s have two backup batteries, both of which are made from 2 Panasonic VL2330 cells. You can sometimes revive them by leaving the 'Book connected to power for up to 48 hours, but at this age...not always.

Tested them with a voltmeter. All four cells are fully charged and seem fine.

Hmm...
