DGR MAX = LC w/3 PDS slots & 68040
Posted by: Trash80toHP_Mini on 2010-12-21 15:37:51
I've been playing around with the HP Officejet J4680 AIO, the GIMP & XSANE today and thought I'd share my first scan done on HP_Mini. :lc:

Looks like I'll need to play around with it in the GIMP a bit.

That's better! [😀] ]'>

Here's the original, overly HiRes Scan Link:

Do like that upgrade - anyone ever seen one in the flesh, or have one? Could see an LC475 running the setup quite nicely ...

Dunno if it'd work on a 475 as it's already a Quadra and has a better PDS Slot too.

This lil' puppy might be nice as one of the three cards in the monster above!

From an advert on the backside of the MOBILE MAC: Ubiquitous Computing article I clipped from December '92 MacUser. :lc:

I would dearly love to get my hands on the PDS Expansion PCB on the DGR MAX! [😉] ]'>

For $349 that would have been pretty good value back in the day.

MicroMac sold this a few years later calling it the Power WorkStation.

Having 2 or 3 PDS slots would be interesting for video, networking, and maybe a spigot card for capture.

I kind of wonder why they didn't make zero footprint HD/CDROM expansion for the LC line like they did for the compacts. Somebody did make cool external HD bays for the 800/840av/8500/9500 series that looked just like an 800 case that got kneecapped, wish I bid on it back then.

Interesting page! You'd think that for an accelerator/expansion chassis purchase at their prices MicroMac could, at LEAST, include a friggin' grounding strap! :🙂
