i have an image that I want to use with the program Backdrop for system 6....but first I have to make it macpaint format, any idea how? I've tried using graphic converter but no dice.

Try GIF converter, It can be found on Dogcow's site.

it worked on my Classic Running 6.0.8 and converted within a reasonable amount of time.

the app works but the output does not work with backdrop. I tried changing the creator codes for the picture but that doesn't work either

Maybe it uses the "startup screen" format? I'm pretty sure GIF Converter saves in that.

SuperPaint can make a StartupScreen file.
