| Free Pascal interpreter for Mac |
Posted by: PowerPup on 2010-12-03 16:17:25 Yay! I just found a copy of macpix.sit.hqx! A free pascal interpreter for mac (by the people who did Dr.Pascal) that's mentioned in my copy of Pascal-An Introduction to the Art and Science of Programming by Walter J. Savitch.
http://www.it.jcu.edu.au/Subjects/cp1300/1996/progs/ - files for Pascal, 5th edition by Addison-Welsey, 1995 (This is where I found it.)
Now if only I could find the rest of the files that were for the book.
LIst of files for the book.

Some of the old websites have the old versions of MacPascal available. It will only run on system 6.0.8 or less, but it was great, because it has the system calls built into the program, so you could do all sorts of nifty graphics with very little work.
If you aren't already aware, Think Pascal 4.5 something is available free on the web. Have you visited Pascal Central on the web?

And yeah, I already got a free copy of THINK Pascal. I just wanted to have a copy of the interpreter mentioned in the book, because I was curious to see what the development environment was like back when the book was made. I tried it out and it works in Mac OS 9. 😛
I keep reading about this "MacPascal" but haven't been able to find a copy of it.... If anyone happens to know where a copy is I'd appreciate it. 😉

Now I just have to learn Pascal and come up with ideas for programs to make. 😛
