Just bought a shrinkwrapped Kid Pix for $1.49 on eBay last night. Although I have four boxed copies of Kid Pix (and three without boxes) I have yet to find a shrinkwrapped edition. I doubt I'll open this one.
Now I just need to find an old Kid Pix Professional...Craig Hickman himself has said they are extremely rare.
Should mention that today's kids still love the original Kid Pix. We have it in the classroom where I'm student teaching on the iMac G3s and the children still gravitate towards it during free computer time.

Nice find, Scott.
Although I already have a Kid Pix Software package, the installation disk (the one with the green label) no longer works. I used it once on my 512ke/Plus hybrid, just to test out the program (I used the internal floppy drive. It has not damaged my other floppies, although now I am more conscientious as I create duplicates of all of my originals). It worked, then after I ejected it, I got an error -39 message. I've tried to recover it using Norton Utilities on my SE (using the 800k external drive, as these floppies are 800k), but no success.
Would it be possible to send me a copy of the installation disk? Please send me a PM at your earliest convenience.

I wish I could help, but unfortunately I am currently using all of my copies of Kid Pix on my various computers, so I can't readily part with one now.
As you know, sending disk images is against the EULA of the software. As we saw in Vernor vs. AutoDesk, these EULAs are enforceable by law. Therefore, this is not an option. (This is also why I have so many Kid Pixes--I use it on the machines I tutor with plus a few personal machines so I can create templates and read files and am strict about the one copy per machine rule).
However, if I find another Kid Pix on eBay or similar, I'll let you know right away so you can pick it up first.

Actually, according to DMCA law, he is allowed to make 1 (ONE) backup of his software, which means law takes precedence over EULA. all he is requesting is a BACKUP of his software. I would say, if he can take a picture of the diskette, you should be able to send him an image, because not only does it not violate the DMCA, but it proves he owns it, therefore it's not piracy. But scott, you should know this by now.
