| Gigadesigns & Mac OS 9 |
Posted by: avw on 2010-10-15 06:19:15 OK, I am still fighting with my G4 equipped with an Gigadesigns 1,4 GHz G4. I cannot find problems reproduceable at any OS, just 9 has problems (Linux not). So I belive in the meantime that Giga Designs upgades do not work with native Mac OS 9.
If you can, please proove me wrong. Has anyone a Giga Designs running correctly with Mac OS 9?

Posted by: avw on 2010-10-15 13:07:34 It´s about that machine:

We found out that it never worked with OS 9 it always hat X when working correctly. Also Ubuntu 9 works absolutely well without any problems. Only OS 9 has permanentely unreproducable freeces etc. I am struggeling very long now with this machine.
Lately I tried to do a new setup with a bought OS 9.2.2 - with permanent freeces while booting etc.
No real idea. So I thought maybe gigadesigns didn´t test OS 9 back than (or the firmwareupgrade which prevents the machine from using 9 correctly?), ... but please give me some ideas or maybe Gigadesigns documents and software?

Posted by: avw on 2010-10-16 07:14:49 Well, nothing new (but thanks for the document). The Firmware update was done (otherwise the Gigadesigns wouldn have worked at any time). And as I said the strange thing is X and Linux have no problems at all! Only 9 permanently hangs.
I thought it could be "This G-celerator is also compatible with Mac OS 9.2.2, although Giga Designs does not test, warrant, nor support third party software operation under OS 9."
That's why I am asking if anyone has this card well working under 9, ...

"This G-celerator is also compatible with Mac OS 9.2.2 So ... are you using 9.2.2?
