what size CRT alignment tool? Color Classic
Posted by: mraroid on 2015-06-14 12:05:38
HI...

I have my Color Classic taken apart about as much as possible.  I am getting my analog board back soon after having it re cap'ed.  I see the alignment sockets for adjusting the CRT.  Before I took my Color Classic apart, I found that my screen was shifted to the left.  I saw some - mostly plastic  alinement tools on Amazon.  They reminded me of the tools I used to adjust my parents TV about 50 years ago.

Can someone tell me what the size is for adjusting the trim pots in the Color Classic?    I can't tell by looking in the alignment hole if it takes a flat blade screwdriver type tip, or maybe a 6 sided tip.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Maybe this topic would help  https://68kmla.org/forums/index.php?/topic/25562-wtb-plastic-crt-adjustment-tools/

Thank you for the help slomacuser.  I just bought the kit from Amazon that Trag recommend.  Anyone know if the tip I need for my Color Classic is a flat blade, or a small 6 sided tool?

Thanks

Just be careful.  I ordered mine and received it, but it's not the set that was pictured.  It's an all-plastic, all-red set.  None of them were black or yellow, and none were metal.

I kept it anyway, I don't think I need those other pieces.  Should work.

you don't want to use metal when it comes to CRT realignment

I hope my tools from Amazon fit.  Someone here must know if it is a flat blade or a 6 sided tip that sticks into the color classic.  I can not speak to the color classic, but in the 1960s, when I would line up the family B&W TV, all the line up tools were pastic.
