| 7100 Audio IN |
Posted by: chet david on 2010-09-17 17:53:17 When audio records on my 7100, it is imbalanced always. It records right volume extremely loudly and left audio very quietly. I have checked that the problem is not with cable or device being recorded from.

Posted by: Dennis Nedry on 2010-09-18 22:12:08 It MIGHT be a bad capacitor. The thought of a bad cap on a Power Mac logic board sends shivers up my spine. I suppose the 7100 is 16 years old or so, they're bound to start dropping soon. xx(

I've heard of iMac G3s with failing caps (maximum age = 12), so anything is possible!

Posted by: Bunsen on 2010-09-20 02:05:26 Does it come and go when you wiggle the connector? That would indicate either the socket pins are bent inside or a bad solder joint.
Does it come and go depending on how long the machine has been on? That would indicate a bad solder joint that expands and makes better contact once the machine has heated up.
