I was helping to supercharge a G3. We were installing a superdrive. He tries to wiggle the molex cord out of the stock drive but cannot. I then try to pull it out with pliars, but cannot get grip. I then brute force with all my strength. The cord is pulled out, and my hand & the cord are slammed against the steel interior of the case. The molex cord is punctured in many spots. In one spot, you can see the silver interior wiring inside the cord. Must be dangerous to expose that. If I turned it on and it touched the metal interior, the whole computer would be charged. Would electric tape fix this? Otherwise I would have to add a third power supply to my shopping list. Lucky I not. xx(

electrical tape will be fine its just 12v and 5v (and no if it touched the cage, its grounded, it would short out the power supply, which is not healthy, but they have short ciruit protection and would shut off before much damage would happen)

Can't see a thing in that picture. What was the point of wasting my bandwidth with it? I offered a disclaimer. I do wish I had a higher quality camera. Even if I hold my hands completely still, the picture turns out blurred always.
Anyway the question has been answered it seems. I have to buy some electrical tape.

get a magnifying glass and hold it infront of your camera if it does not have a macro mode

Yup, it's not how still you're holding the camera, it's the fact that you're too close for your camera to focus.
Look for a button (or menu setting) of a flower, that is the universal icon for "Macro mode", which allows it to focus on closer objects. Note that even in Macro mode, you may not be able to get close enough, it depends on the camera. Make sure your zoom is all the way OUT, not in, if you are physically close. If you prefer, you can try stepping further away and zooming in, but on some cameras, the minimum distance is better enough zoomed out that you can fill more of the frame with the object zoomed out in macro mode than zoomed in without macro mode.

It's just damaged insulation around the wire core. Electrical tape is made for this kind of issue, so go ahead and wrap it up.

Man, if I had to replace stuff every time I damaged a wire I'd be far, far more poor than I am now.
