SLIP on Power Mac G3
Posted by: Dog Cow on 2010-07-26 15:04:42
I want to do SLIP on my desktop Power Mac G3 running OS X 10.2.8. This is the model with built-in printer and modem port.

I tried doing a

slattach /dev/tty.modem 19200
But I got back an error about the device not being compatible for SLIP. That wasn't the exact message. It also said ioctl.

Anyone get this working and know what to do?

Doesn't slip use cu devices, not tty?

I have no idea. I tried all four combinations of cu/tty and printer/modem. All gave the same error message. I read the man page and didn't get any clues as to what is wrong.

Is SLIP possible on that model?

Is SLIP possible on that model?
I can't imagine why not; it has the requisite hardware.
