iMac G3 needs to play some iTunes...
Posted by: macguy on 2010-07-24 09:57:07
My "new" iMac G3 has 9.2 OS and I have no intentions of installing OS X because i have other iMac's with OS X.

( For now I am working with OS 9.2 on this IMac G3 and plan to add OS 8 something using Conflict Catcher 9 to switch between the two operating systems. )

What version of iTunes do i install and where do i download it from because I just can not find OS 9 version of iTunes for download from mother Apple ?

This one should do it.

Hope that helps. 🙂

iMac is correct. I have iTunes 2.0.4 running on an 8600 with 9.1. I love that I can play and record audio at the same time. Recording is not with iTunes, though.

Thanks, perfect help.

The "burning" service in OS 9 is weird to me and I am having growing pains learning/remembering how. I have to create RAM disk on the desktop and then drop the file/folder to complete the burn. OH well at least it burns. And, I'm sure you guys all know that stuff.

I missed the step from OS 8 to 9 because i went directly to OS X when I purchased a new mac with OS X factory installed when i switched.

Nowtalk about going backwards i then did XPostfacto on my 8500 which was a fun learning trip but even with the RAM maxed in the 8500 it was slower then a turtle with OS Tiger. Would never do that again and would not recommend it except to learn how.

Now with my "new" iMac G3 ( 500 Mhz ) it's faster and zipier then my QS G4 at 9something Mhz.
