I just found my old CD-R/RW that Ricoh made a few years back (I got it in '98 or early '99!)and curiously, in order for it to mount CD's (and burn under Toast) I actually needed to have the APPLE CD/DVD Driver installed from OS 8.6 install. I had installed FWB's CD-ROM Toolkit at first but the darn thing wouldn't mount (it was recognized in SCSI Probe and Apple System Profiler even but wouldn't mount drives).
So the CD-ROM toolkit was needed to be recognized by the system but Apple's CD/DVD Driver was needed to mount the disks which the drive can read?
It's just odd that this Ricoh was technically not supported for Macs but works with Apple's drivers why!?
