Apparently they have a special lubricant for reducing friction in low power floppy drives. Ahhhhh marketing.

I use the hell out of them, and I never have any problems. They do seem resistant to develop bad sectors. Newer disks develop bad sectors quickly (modern still made disks). These last quite a long time before they do.
Thats just my personal experience.
