I think it an LC575 but just wanted to be sure before I start acquiring the bits. I currently have a Color Classic, which can only use an ethernet or IIe card, and a 5500 that doesn't have an LC PDS slot.

| Posted by: LCGuy on 2010-04-21 13:30:05 Yep, you're right its the LC575 - no PowerPC Mac can boot into 24 bit mode, meaning that they can't use the IIe card, and neither can the LC/Performa 580 (which runs at the same speed as the 575 anyway, it just has a crappier display, vampire video, an IDE HDD, an extra RAM slot, and a Video System slot). Any AIO with an expansion slot can take an ethernet card, however.
| Posted by: register on 2010-05-26 05:23:35 There is also a speedup path documented to get the 575 running at 40 MHz and more. In combination with a full 68040 and big memory module the machine will make a pretty fast 68kM. To run the IIe card you will need to boot in 24 bit mode, however.
