StyleWriter on newer machines

Is there a possible way I can use the StyleWriter I got in a recent conquest?

It's the first StyleWriter, not II or anything.

I got a Performa 400 with the Stylewriter btw.

Well, it's just a serial connection, so I don't get what it is you're asking. Connect it to some Macs with a serial port, or get a USB-serial adaptor and a driver (or write your own).

Using a Serial-to-USB, what would you install it as? I highly doubt there are any drivers, so as just a generic text printer?

Supposedly I heard that some guy modified the CUPS drivers so that it'll support such devices. I've got it bookmarked on one of the machines I use.....

@DogCow - My question was, is there a specific apple mini 8 din to usb adapter.

OS X support for StyleWriters:

Not sure on the USB-RS-422 adaptor, I have never used or seen one.
