Weird issue with image file
Posted by: quinterro on 2010-03-18 14:16:48
I'm working on someone's web site and used a program called iResize to resize an image to a new file. The file appears when I go to Terminal, but does not appear when using a finder window. When I try to add the file as part of an image tag on a web page, it does not load.

Any ideas on how to make it visible? Even better how about a small image resizing program? Some of the images I need to add are about 1-2MB - a bit much for a web page.

Thanks for any feedback.

Preview can resize an image, among many other apps. Perhaps I don't understand exactly what you need. :?:

What I was attempting to do was resize an image to make it more suitable for a web page. iResize can resize the file, but when the resized file was saved it did not show in the finder. I was trying to find a way to make the file visible.

I'll try a different program. I tried Preview, but didn't see the resize options. Blind I guess. 🙂

Yes, I'm really blind. 🙂

Apparently I made a copy of the site I am working on to the wrong location. The image file I was looking for was there....

Sorry. In Preview, Tools menu, Adjust Size...

Graphic Converter has a handy "Save for web..." menu item under File. It opens a dialog where you can resize, set the image format, and various other parameters.
