| Rage128 Pro 16mb w/DVD decoder (bulk purchase) |
Posted by: Quadraman on 2010-03-03 15:14:22 Having tried one and found it worked fine in beige machines, I cleaned my seller out of his entire stock to upgrade the rest of my beige PCI Powermacs. I might even have one left over to add a second monitor to my G4. So now I have 7 of them, price? $6 each plus bulk shipping. No QE or CI with these, but Radeons are still too expensive for me to buy enough of them to upgrade all my Macs and the Rage128 Pro's are a considerable upgrade to the onboard video on all these machines including the G3 towers.

Posted by: Unknown_K on 2010-03-03 18:14:59 They are nice, I have 3 or 4 of them in PCI macs. The 64 bit slots on B&W G3's make those cards about as fast as the 2x AGP ones.

I don't have enough Mac monitors to put one on each of my Macs but I have plenty of VGA monitors and you can still find LCD's or televisions that have a VGA connector so I can even retire some of my generic CRT's to save energy and space.

Yeah, when I saw how many he had at the price I had to take a head count of all my Macs with PCI slots to be sure I could use all of them. Some people are asking ridiculous money for first generation Radeons. You can sometimes grab one as low as $25-$30 but some people just want stupid prices for them. I've seen 32mb Radeon (not 7000) for $100 already. When you need as many as I do, though, even $25 each is a lot of money.
