Application that extracts resources from Mac ROMs?
Posted by: Dennis Nedry on 2010-02-19 17:46:35
I'm looking for an application that, when fed a Macintosh ROM file, extracts all the resources separately into the resource fork of a new file. I KNOW that I have used such a program but relentless googling has turned up NOTHING. This is similar to FDisasm, but I'm fairly sure that it's a completely different application.

There is a chance that it is called "MacNosy" but I really don't know and I can't find a download link for that either.

Not sure, but I can look up those names on my super secret old set of CDROMS that has all sorts of the old tools on them.

It'll take a bit to get through all 8 cd's searching but it MIGHT be on there.

Wish some luck,

That would be great! Thanks!

Is it Rommie?

YES, it is Rommie! Thanks!

The file on the site you linked to is corrupt but I found another one. Interesting is that it only seems to be able to do to the ROM that it has dumped from the Mac it's running on. You can't feed it a ROM file from somewhere else.

My intention was to find the easter egg image stored in the IIci ROM. Maybe I'll just have to dig out a real IIci and run it on there.
